Uniting Like-minded Ministers
By Glenn Burris Jr., Vice President, U.S. Operations / General SupervisorThe Foursquare Association unites ministry leaders of kindred hearts through personal and accountable relationships. Their interest and background with Foursquare may have a variety of starting points, but their current journey will definitely be nurtured through sponsoring Foursquare pastors, divisional superintendents, district supervisors and our regional/national offices. Some of these leaders have had long-standing credentialed relationship with The Foursquare Church, but are now in a non-Foursquare appointment and still desire to be strongly connected and affiliated with the movement.
Still others are desirous of a formal relationship, though their current ministry assignment prevents them from a traditional entry into our network of ministers. Both of these would be eligible candidates for the association, through a clear process of application, recommendations and credentialing guidelines. They would carry Foursquare credentials and be subject to all of the current expectations of our ministers.
Lastly, others have a growing interest and affinity for what the Lord has called us to do. Informally, they wish to connect in order to learn more about us, while bringing their gifts and strengths to further advance the cause of Christ. This community level would not carry credentials, but the ministers in this level would be invited to participate in many divisional, district, regional and national functions. Noting that many ministers currently in Foursquare have come from outside of our movement, this is an intentional effort to provide a clear pathway of exploration for future partnerships.
